Follow @liftingiscake fall recipes and more 🍏🍏🍏 I just made STUFFED CHAYOTE APPLES. Imagine a warm apple pie crisp that’s what it takes like! Of a warm apple oatmeal cookie!!! My house smelled amazing as they cooked! Made me excited to take the bite! You can lead these with a glazed pork chop or served it with some vanilla ice cream!

SAVE AND SHARE RECIPE (divine each ingredient per chayote)
2 chayotes washed and pealed (I have a mini crockpot)
6 apple tea bags @celestialtea
11/2 cups of water maybe less or more
Filling
1/2 cup protein oats @kodiakcakes their berry cream flavor
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
2 teaspoons sweetener @swervesweetie
2 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
6 drops maple flavoring @oooflavors
2 tablespoons butter
Cinnamon powder

Keto/Low-Carb Filling:
Swap out the oats for 1/2 cup almond flour
You can add a scoop of protein mix with it
Add more different nuts like pecans and walnuts for added texture
Add 1 tablespoon brown sweetener per chayote
And extra cinnamon powder
For added nutrition add 1 tablespoon hemp seeds per chayote

🍏add peaked chayote with the water and apple tea bags to the crock pot. You can fill more with water if you want. I wanted to create that beautiful division of seeing the golden brown goodness, and the pretty green, chayote color. I did add a splash of vanilla flavoring into the water to to help sweeten up the chayote.
Add the add the filling and top with the cold butter on top. Cook them for 4 to 6 hours on low time will depend on how you like your apples chayotes do take longer to break down.
